I’ve been sniffing my arm all day. Seriously. This body wash smells sooo yummy. It uses two of my fave essential oils that are chock full o’ benefits for the body. It’s only a coincidence that this body wash smells like a mild men’s cologne. So ladies, feel free to share this body wash with your favorite man, or anyone that enjoys men’s cologne. Who am I to judge? Scroll on through to make your own body wash at home. It’s super easy! And yes, it lathers. The pictures don’t lie 😉 Have eczema? Try this body wash instead.

What you need

  • Castile soap
  • Distilled water
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Vegetable glycerin
  • Vitamin E oil
  • Himalayan pink salt
  • Cedarwood essential oil
  • Vetiver essential oil
Shop the supplies

Castile soap

  • All-natural and plant-based
  • Non-toxic
  • Gentle, yet effective

Distilled water

  • The best option for the cleanest body wash possible
  • It doesn’t contain any of the nasty minerals found in tap water
  • If you don’t have distilled water, filtered water is a close second

Aloe vera gel

  • Soothes and hydrates irritated skin
  • Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help to heal damaged skin
  • A natural moisturizer

Vegetable glycerin

  • Safe and non-toxic
  • Improves skin imperfections by holding in moisture
  • Has natural skin healing properties

Vitamin E oil

  • Hydrates and moisturizes the skin
  • High in antioxidants, and neutralizes free radicals
  • Helps to heal scars and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots

Himalayan pink salt

  • Contains all 84 elements found in the body
  • Helps to detoxify and exfoliate the skin
  • Composed of dried remnants of the original, primal sea

Cedarwood essential oil

  • Heals skin rashes and blemishes
  • Reduces excessive secretions of sebum, oil and normalizes both dry and oily skin
  • Has a grounding and earthy scent

Vetiver essential oil

  • Heals skin and promotes cell regeneration
  • Treats dark spots, acne blemishes and cracked skin
  • Has antiseptic and antioxidant properties
  • Smells amazing!

Air-tight container

  • I’ve repurposed an old beverage bottle, if you don’t have anything handy, you can order something similar to mine (linked above 👆🏾)
  • This recipe makes a little over 14 ounces, but the bubbles add volume, so I would use atleast a 16 oz container
Make your own body wash at home

How to make

  1. Unscrew the cap on your air-tight container and get ready to add:
  2. 1/4 cup of Aloe vera gel
  3. Next, add 2 tsp of Vegetable glycerin
  4. And then 1 tsp each of Himalayan pink salt and Vitamin E oil
  5. I used 10 drops each of Cedarwood and Vetiver essential oils and the scent is to die for, but use 20 drops of your favorite essential oils here if you don’t have these oils
  6. Now, add 1 cup of Castile soap
  7. Lastly, add 1/2 cup of Distilled water
  8. Add the cap, and shake to combine
  9. All done!

Tips and tricks

  • Give this a good shake before each use
  • As much as I want you to be smelling your arm too, you don’t need to use all the ingredients for this body wash to be effective. You can leave out the essential oils and it’ll still work just fine
