The harsh truth
Have you ever asked yourself, “When should I replace my non-stick pan?” Does your non-stick pan look anything like mine? And if so, is it still safe to use? According to some sources, you should replace a non-stick pan when the coating is damaged or the pan is no longer effective at cooking. If the coating is flaking off or peeling, it’s time to get a new pan. Say the coating is scratched, it’s time to get a new pan. If there is dark discoloration, it’s time to get a new pan. And if there is rust, it’s probably time to get a new pan. Non-stick pans typically last between 1 to 5 years. So basically, it’s time to get a new pan if it’s been about that long since you purchased and it’s showing any signs.
I ditched my 4-year old pans and found this set on Amazon in the same style. They are stackable with detachable handles (how brilliant is that?!). Non-stick and PFOS & PFOA-free. They are even oven safe up to 480 degrees. I’ve linked them below for you!

I made pancakes to test out one of these non-stick pans. Basically, I chose to make something that is traditionally tricky without non-stick or adding excessive amounts of oil, and the pan did not disappoint! See for yourself and watch the video above. Furthermore, the pan came to temperature very quickly and did not require oil or butter before hand. Looking forward to cooking many more meals with these! Drop a message if you would be interested in seeing a follow-up on these pans after I’ve clocked 6 months of use.
