Mother nature knows what she’s doing ─ all the ingredients in my natural cold remedy are well, natural 🌱 You can pronounce all the ingredients, unlike the stuff on the back of a few store-bought cough syrups I’ve seen, which shall remain nameless… Everything you need can be found at your local grocery store, and you may be using a few to cook your dinner with already. A win-win for your pocket, and your cold ─ which won’t be around for long if you try this recipe 😉

Molasses
- Is antioxidant-rich, and helps to eliminate free radicals
- Has tons of medicinal properties and is quite high in Iron
Cinnamon
- Not only helps to fight coughs, but also soothes sore throats
- Is a powerful antioxidant that supports the immune system
- Also has antimicrobial, and anti-fungal properties
Red onion
- Has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, antibiotic and antioxidant properties
- Improves immunity and fights against flu and infections
Garlic
- Is a natural antibiotic which boosts the immune system
- Also rich in vitamins and minerals
- Contains antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties
Rosemary
- Is packed with antioxidants, which help to fight off free radicals
- Boosts the body’s immune response
- Has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties
How to make
- Put 2.5 cups of water in the saucepan on the stove along with 6 big garlic cloves minced, 1/4 of a red onion chopped, and 1 sprig of rosemary
- Heat on medium-high, then boil for 10 minutes, and remove from the heat
- Strain the liquid into your cup, then add 1 tbsp each of cinnamon and molasses
- Stir to combine, and drink while it’s still hot (I let mine cool for 15 minutes before consuming)
- This recipe makes 2 cups, drink and repeat until your symptoms are gone
- Enjoy!
Worth noting
- Include the molasses and you won’t taste any of the garlic, onion or rosemary!
